No Lack Of Inspiration

I'm a total newbie to crafting of any kind. I repost ideas I find exciting. I will also post the crafts I'm working on, and possibly some homemade tutorials.

truebluemeandyou: 52 Reason I Like or Love You. Reblogging for Valentines Day because I did this project and it takes a while to go through magazines. Also - glue stick!

DIY ”52 Reasons” Book. Continuing my posts of really cheap but  thoughtful gifts. Made out of a pack of cards using a glue stick. Before I saw this, I had just tried this with Mod Podge - disaster - the cards curled up and it was a big mess. Seen at Little Gray Fox here. More photos and where it was originally posted (I think) at Craftster here.

Got a little crafty in between finals and made these bad boys. Super simple DIY I found online a couple weeks ago. Used 3 mason jars(the DIY I found originally used pickle jars), 3 plastic toy animals, krazy glue and Krylon metallic gold spray paint. I’m pretty pleased with the results. :)

I want these. Good idea! I might make something like this for my self.

$2 hanging towel

Pot holder- $1 each
kitchen towel- $1 each
needle, thread, sewing machine, buttons- on hand

This looks like a fairly easy house craft! Adding this to my growing to-do list.

Operation DIY Christmas: Gift Baskets.

My sister and I decided to do a 100% DIY Christmas this year by making handmade gift baskets for our family members. They each included a hand crocheted & embellished scarf in a style and color suited to the person receiving them - homemade peppermint bark in the shape of snowflakes - spiced cider I made with cinnamon sticks, star anise, and orange slices - Natural bath salts for colds & allergies with echinacea, tea tree, and ginger - Hand made soy candles (Melei even made the candle holders in pottery class and then we filled them with liquid wax) - and snowflakes I crocheted were used as toppers & I hand stamped/put together all the gift tags.

We really didn’t think anyone would realize how much work went into everything, but our family was taken aback at the baskets (we had promised not to “buy” presents… so we didn’t… tehe) It actually felt kind of great watching everyone open them and this was the best Christmas in a long, long time. And luckily since we had the majority of the supplies at home already it didn’t take a huge dent out of our wallets, which is always a win!
